Gage liked to do a "pre-shoot" so-to-speak, where the actors, cameramen, etc., would work together "practicing", to make sure they were all comfortable together, test the lighting, angles, etc. This first one has J.W. King in it (uncredited, as are the rest of the cast)and was indeed released in movie theatres back then when Gage saw he had some good stuff! This was all shot in one night, with four cameramen roaming around on the set (the usual was one, or two cameramen). Easy to find for 10 bucks or so, the one to look for is the hard to get Closed Set 2. Click on the "Joe Gage" link above to look at a description of his other films.
