(sigh)

i shouldn't be awake yet, but the sound of the waves a helicopter woke me. got in late last night, and of course not ready to be back. already yelled at roommate, and several co-workers (none were aware of the yelling, but one of them doesn't clean up after himself, and the others, well, they are hopeless) but anyway, lying in bed, the sound of the helicopter, i decided to get up anyway, since 6:30am has been my usual time to wake up while on vacation. i'm trying to be upset, or sad, and no doubt i will be both in a matter of hours at the office, but right now, the rising sun is hitting me, and i realize it is at the exact same angle it did each morning for a week from the little deck of the place i was staying - same sun, same me...... now if only i could replicate the sounds of the waves that coaxed me to sleep each night, or that woke me in the middle of the night, begging me to come out on the deck and look at the bazillion stars not only above, but somehow just straight ahead over the bay. more pictures, some videos later no doubt; think i'll keep weather.com at 02657 for awhile longer on the blackberry

going on 4

last september 5 years ago was the first time, 4 days alone. 3 years ago, with partner for just a couple days; and last year (seen here) with a buddy, 6 days. Well, in 6 days exactly from typing this, i will be on a ferry, beginning 9 days of VACATION alone - (don't worry, i've called ahead and warned the locals).

mmmmmmmmmm

several of them pulled ahead, annoying me. but as the final one got just in front of me, and i glanced down at his snug jeans, back up to see his dark blue simpsons t-shirt, also snug, my annoyance fell away. when he started to pull away, his jeans slipped down, revealing that small patch of hair above the ass that I love so much; as his arms positioned, his shirt lifted up a bit, and the revealed bare skin formed a beautiful oval for me to follow. and follow i did. his thighs moved up and down, leading me blindly forward, hypnotized. occasionally he glanced sideways, giving me a glimpse of facial hair, a cute face probably two decades younger than mine, and most likely oblivious to the older man behind him who's grumpy morning had turned around in a matter of just a few blocks. i was no longer paying attention to my surroundings, other than the motion of the man ahead of me, letting his gestures dictate when i sped, when i slowed down, when i swerved slightly. when he got to fifth avenue, he suddenly darted ahead, and turned south, leaving me with a pleasant sigh, then a giggle, as i kept on heading west, peddling on my way to work on what started off as an ordinary september morning

rut

the idea is, i am supposed to try to get out of my rut; you know - doing the same thing over and over again (bars, webcam, "dating" websites) and expecting a different result.... blah blah blah - so, after work yesterday, instead of riding directly home, or riding to the grocery store, then home, to sit in front of this machine and/or the tube, i decided to pedal directly west (no, not to the Eagle, keep going) to the west side highway, and just over, to the river. lots of nice benches, joggers, bicyclists, and the river, filled with sailboats, some kayaking type people, and the sun lowering in the sky. parked my ass on a bench, pulled out a book, and let myself slow down, relax, enjoy the warm feeling of the sun on my face, the cool breeze tickling under my armpits, and the what the! annoying sound of the heliport a few feet away..... but soon, that annoying sound dissipated, and i just enjoyed a nice rest before taking the slightly longer route home.
