just testing to see if print clear enough for reading – I’ll look to post entire interview soon…
What I Like About You
I was working on something else, somehow wound up on my own A NIGHT AT HALSTED’S soundtrack page, and realized none of the music links worked! Aaaaaarrrghhh! So I had to figure out what was wrong, download, upload, update pages, and then figured all that and I bet the page hardly gets any hits any longer….
But back around – on gosh, don’t say it – the turn of the Century, someone found my geogities pages, after trying to figure out who the hell put cool music on a porno he was watching… long story short, he and another pal of mine spent weeks trying to ID each and find a digital version of each tune, and eventually got all 26. Then my Kansas buddy sent me a homemade CD of the final product.
If you look back at my earlier archives ( the “blogger years” – April 2001 to March 2010 ) – you can see some of my rambling on the topic – “night+at+halsted’s” Oh look – there was a time I was the only search result for “A NIGHT AT HALSTED’S SOUNDTRACK”, but if you keep the phrase in quotes, I’m 3rd, which is better than none. Anyway, all that and cover model for the film JW King, from an August 1982 HONCHO. Now that I’ve spent all this time talking about everything but the film, I think I need to revisit it, as I recall not enjoying it much, but for the plexiglass glory-hole scene. But don’t wait for me to get around to watching and writing and posting, when you can check out this review right here – on REDDIT
Centurian
this surprising find, that I had never noticed before, from the magazine Centurian, Book II, (from a COSCO film, Centurian, ) is what I am 99% sure is Fred Halsted, and co-star of the film, Chuck Carretti – OK, actually the film is called Up Against the Wall with Chuck and David Binde, part of the Centurian video release, Anyhow… love Fred here!
of course, now it means I will be obsessed with finding any more “cameos” of Fred in other Cosco magazines where he’s not actually specifically featured!
as far as the actual stars of the film, Chuck and David, I couldn’t find a good pic from the mgazine with both of them. I need to see if I have the film tucked away somewhere…
plays himself
California, and L.A.
California Fox promo – (1978) – includes bits not just from the Mike Morris and Dave Daniels scene pictured above, but also Dan Pace (AKA Rocky) and Chuck Grady; Chuck Grady and Don Edwards (look for the bald head diving into Chuck’s ass); plus I think the smallest look at Steve Warren (AKA Johnny Harden) – sorry about the sound quality – you can see why this is getting deleted from the hard drive – the music, the music is sooooo porno-familiar~
L. A. Plays Itself (1972) directed by: Fred Halsted – Starring: Rick Coates, Jim Frost, Fred Halsted, Joseph Yale
Director: Fred Halsted (1988) – Adam and Company
Starring: J.D. Slater, Clay Russell, Danny Brown, Kris Todd, Rob Swack, Steve Erickson, Don Miller, and Cesar Blanco
Fred Halsted’s last movie as director; probably last as actor/model as well – Halsted is a voyeur in the César Blanco / Danny Brown final scene. I’ve grown to like this, perhaps the first scene (see here) and the final, with hunky César Blanco as the best parts.
Truck Stop – trucker Clay Russell picks up hitchhiker J.D. Slater for some hot action in the back of the truck (alas, the clip stops after the pick-up; but watch the friendly goodbye waves from J.D. at the end)
