Another rerun, another clip from Navy Blue – but it’s just soooooo good! Classis story – two guys in the Navy on a 12-hour leave in NYC, each secretly in love with the other, but can’t bare to admit it to the other and risk jeopardizing their friendship. They part ways, and Jack Wrangler is trying to enjoy site-seeing on his own, but loses himself in thought looking at one of the Christmas-decorated windows, imagining a romantic encounter with his buddy, 70’s bearded hunk George Payne, complete with disco-theme music, of course. (BTW, the music is SPACE’s Magic Fly). Remember guys, this is also the film with the wonderful blowjob in the helicopter flying over Manhattan skyline scene.

i just re-watched this – damn I love this scene! While I do like some of the work of Francis Ellie, it’s often not that well done. But here, the disco music, the Christmas tree and lights, the slow “dance” between George and Jack, and the unwrapping of the big red bow… just so wonderful! And Jack in his sailor suite – so cute!

Wakefield Poole’s Bible Special Edition DVD – wow!!

Wow! Wow! WOW!!! I was just trying to modestly update my Wakefield Poole page, because the documentary I Always Said Yes: The Many Lives of Wakefield Poole is currently making the film festival circuit (and I just got my own personal “Donors and Friends Edition” DVD!!) and stumbled upon this, the release on DVD of Wakefield Poole’s amazing BIBLE! Now, while I want everyone to go right over to Gorilla Factory Productions and order a copy (only 20 bucks + shipping), if you don’t know anything about it, I feel, as a pornologist, to “warn” you that it is not a typical porno film – in fact, many might rate it “R”, I don’t recall any gay sex actually, and when I finally got to see it about 10 years ago, I had no urge to pull my cock out and wank (well, except maybe when Brahm van Zetten, who portrays Samson, was on the screen). But it’s a wonderfully beautiful and fun film, and any serious 70’s porn fan should have it. And i remember watching it thinking – “Ah HA! Poole the choreographer! of course!” And I know you can maybe save 2 bucks by going to Amazon, but please, check it out over at Gorilla Factory Productions, because Jim Tushinski is doing an amazing job reissuing and remastering (seriously, the DVD’s I’ve purchased so far are just so well done, and so affordable!) these gems, it’s a small contribution we can make to preserve our gay porn history.

I know I’ve posted this at least twice before, it’s from a compilation video called Gay Erotica From the Past 8, which is a series of videos showing gay porno clips from the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s. For years I’ve been trying to figure out the source – which particular film this was excerpted from, but alas I haven’t been able to figure it out. While it’s not unusual for a porno to just seemingly randomly add some pop music to the soundtrack, when you see the end of this clip, you’ll see they definitely planned to use this tune for the soundtrack. In fact, Gay Erotica From the Past 8 contains several scenes from this film, and most of the scenes use Lou Reed’s Transformer as the soundtrack. It’s just 2-1/2 minutes, so wait til the Doo do doo, doo do doo, doo do doo

OK, I know the bulk of this posting is a re-post from 2008, but as I often do latenights on Tuesdays, I was glancing at my referrals on SITEMETER, and saw a link from EROSblog commenting on the original post from back in April of 2008. I can only hope you read the warning! danger! before clicking for the clip. It’s from my all-time favorite (porno) film, BUT it involves a chick. To my closest friends who know me as a Kinsey 8, the fact that I can not only watch, but actually enjoy this scene is bewildering. Roy Garrett goes to the local porno shop (in rural Montana in 1982 – willing suspension of disbelief, anyone?) and winds up feeding dollars to Jolene (wonderfully portrayed by Suzanne Tyson, who you no doubt remember form the 1981 classic, Wanda Whips Wall Street, but I digress….) and doing terrible, disgusting, sickening things – meaning he touches “it”, she touches her own “it”, he even…. oh, I can’t even type it… but there’s also these two other guys watching, and watching each other. It’s not about gaysex, it’s about Male Bonding (with a vengeance, as the video box says)
