Death of Scorpio

The Death of Scorpio – (1981) – Francis Ellie

Story of a jealous artist’s (Shawn Gregory) revenge. He lures his ex (Michael Stone), and 2 friends separately to his home to have sex, then poisons them. Filmed in Soho (NYC).

Starring: Scorpio, Shawn Gregory , Michael Stone (AKA Michael Munsey ), Ron Flash, Bill Williams, Rick Hades.

I was never much of a Scorpio fan, so it’s fitting that the finale from this film, scene 3, doesn’t have him in it, but Shawn Gregory, and Michael Stone (AKA Michael Munsey)

from Casey’s letterboxd review“Shawn Gregory and Michael Munsey, the gorgeous mustachioed stars of IN SEARCH OF THE PERFECT MAN, are reunited and again have electric chemistry. Gregory is an artist distraught over the dissolution of his relationship with Munsey, which he blames on mutual friends Giuseppe Welch and Scorpio. He hatches a plan to murder them and Munsey with poisoned drinks (how poetic), but of course not until after he’s had one final bang with them as a send-off.”

boots & saddles

Director: Francis Ellie (1979? 1980? 1982?)

Starring: Jack Wrangler, Scorpio, Roy Garrett, Adam DeHaven, Chip Kingsley, Claude Caswell, Joe Ryder, Lou Ricky, Ray Poole

“there’s a plot! Jack Wrangler must track down a trick who mistakenly believes Jack gave him gonorrhea – only to wind up in the hands of “Nazi” Scorpio (thankfully, other than a swastika flag, there is nothing Nazi-ish going on, unless some spanking = Nazi); great disco soundtrack, like Dennis Parker’s New York By Night

So that’s a quote from – me! But re-reading reviews (see below), I’m thinking, was there more to the “Nazi” than the flag and some spanking – certainly the flag prominently in the background is a huge turn-off, but looks like I may need to (find the time to) re-watch this film, since it’s been decades. Menawhile, enjoy the promo clip.

previously on BJland – another clip!

VintageGayVids review – has it for 1980
letterboxd review – has it for 1982 – Casey knows a lot more about the “Francis Ellie” films; so I’d go with 1982
GEVI – has it for 1980

Forever Hard

Men Come First

director: Francis Ellie (1979)

A door-to-door salesman (played by Brian Granger) selling “marital aids” is featured in this late 70’s film (Men Come First) that used a good dose of humor. The scene where he demonstrates their main product, Forever Hard, is soooo funny! He actually stands, and balances himself, on the guys cock after applying the balm, to show how rigid your cock becomes. There’s another scene where one of two lovers just can’t seem to cum, and the salesman has them make love in front of him so he can analyze the problem. (This is the scene with Roy Garrett, his first porn film). As they are fucking away, he takes out a bottle-rocket like apparatus, sticks it up the guy’s ass, and of course, they cum like mad!

George Payne is in a “cameo”, a fantasy scene involving leather and a huge poppers box as a backdrop. This is the scene above.

This particular scene has one of my favorites, Roy Garrett, trying to have sex in the bathroom of Greenwich Village’s “notorious” BOOTS & SADDLES; they’re kicked out, then finish up in the stairwell.

and some stills previously on BJland

note: the actual bar, in business from 1974 was forced by high rents at it’s longtime home at 76 Christopher St. to move around the corner in 2014 or 2015, then only lasted a couple years at 100A Seventh Ave South (and re-emerged in 2020 as “Playhouse Bar”?)

Santa wears a jockstrap

Navy Blue

directed by: Francis Ellie (1979)

Starring: George Payne and Brian Ray (Santa) – this scene; also stars Jack Wrangler, Giuseppe Welsh (helicopter), Adam DeHaven, Kurt Mann, Snapper Foster, Derek Thurston, and Anna Freed

This great scene from Navy Blue finds sailor George Payne wandering around Manhattan, stumbling upon a Santa raising money for charity (not to worry, it’s not a Salvation Army Santa, so you can enjoy guilt-free) who uses several awful double entendres to pick up sexy sailor George Payne.

and enjoy the crappy Xmas music soundtrack – “Sleigh Ride, by Leroy Anderson, then the “Ukranian Bell Carol”!

a cinematic whirlwind of passion and lust

Kiss Today Goodbye

directed by: Francis Ellie (1976)
Starring: George Payne, Lew Seager, David Savage, Michael Gaunt, Mark Hamilton , Kurt Mann, Firth Demule, Ben Dover, R. Cansino, and in a non-sexual role, Mary Stunning (Seager’s wife).

Kiss Today Goodbye

George Payne is a construction worker who cheats on his nagging lover (and boy does he nag!) with a married, closeted, man (Lew Seager). I can’t decide which is more amusing, the narrator’s lines, the intense musical soundtrack, or the “fly-on-the-wall” special effects!

I am the meat of the night

Christopher Street Blues
directed by: Francis Ellie (1977)
Starring: Lew Seager and Giuseppe Welch, Lee Edwards, Charles Black, Dan Raymond, Roger Schuler, and Mark Hamilton
ugh; each time i go to record/convert a clip, I realize that the sound ALWAYS SUCKS! (and not in a good way); as I am recording, and watching and listening, it looks and sounds fine, but somehow, it gets distorted and by the time I watch the WMV file, the sound is horrible. And I point that out not just to explain why I so rarely do clips anymore (it is, indeed, discouraging to do low quality stuff), but to point out that despite the sound issue, you need to turn the speakers up so you can enjoy this wonderful theme song – don’t know who did it, or what the name is, but it tells us that “Christopher Street, Christopher Street, you find your meat on Christopher Street” – if only it was as true today as it was 35 years ago!

bonus points for transcribing the lyrics, and/or finding out who did the theme song!
