I think this is my second year(?) in BJLand. 2nd Christmas. I think this is a great tradition.
I watched the entire John Waters video library with my friends when I was 16. I am a Baltimoron after all. You couldn’t find a video store that didn’t carry most, if not all of them (well, at least the independent stores.) I guess Blockbusters didn’t care that John Waters was a Baltimore institution.
But I want to be clear: I do not have the Bal’more accent. I may be dirty-minded, but I’m also classy. Or am I just pretentious? Eh, same thing.
Those films left me highly conflicted. Both disturbed and in love with Divine!
I’ve also met John Waters on multiple occasions. OK, I waited on him at the bookstore on multiple occasions. Every place I ever worked, he showed up. The man got around!
