John Coletti still looks great. Hey, have you’ve seen this interview with him on YouTube? It was posted on Jan. 22, 2014. He talks about using the early music of disco pioneer, Patrick Cowley’s, for his Fox Studio loops.
Yes, I have seen it and bookmarked it for a potential future post on Cowley and Fox Studios
Love the pictures, and love the You Tube links. I remember doing a disc jockey gig in a midwest gay bar in the early 80’s and loving the Patrick Cowley songs. Needless to say, I still have the records. I also have a vague memory of hearing about Mr. Cowley’s death on television, which was weird, because none of the underground “gay” stuff we enjoyed back then ever made it to network television. But I know I learned of his death from a television news show, and I remember being shocked and devastated. Most of the Top 40 “Dance” records on the radio today make me roll my eyes and groan, but I can’t help but wonder how much the producers of those records owe to guys like Patrick Cowley.
