AKA Duke Richards – The man was in a heckuva lotta magazines – but is it possible he’s only been in two films?? A Matter of Size and The Riverman I’ve always questioned the date for The Rivermen – 1981?? must’ve been made years earlier, even if only released in 1981, don’t ya think? Matter of Size has 1972, 1974, and 1975. Anyway, this is a great photograph – I’d love to know where this picture was taken.

I’ve learned that this is a very early Colt picture. It must have been taken, when Jim French and Lou Thomas were still partners. So it must be when the studio was situated on the East coast. I can see Thomas’ influence. He really was into leather and his models were scruffier than French’s. I’m also surprised that Duke only did two films. You can see lots his pictures on Tumblr sites.

Anyway, until recently, I didn’t realize that “The Carpenterâ€, was also the alias for porn actor, Danny DiCioccio. I could kick myself, for not making the connection. He was the magic pool man in 1971’s “Boys in the Sandâ€. Were you aware of that? I personally think he was the cutest cast member of that groundbreaking film.

Well, DiCioccio was also in another 1972 porn flick, with the playful spin, on yet another famous film’s title, “Bob & Daryl & Ted & Alexâ€. I actually remember seeing this film advertised in the newspaper. Wow, I would have been either 14 or 15. I don’t this film is available anymore.
In that film, there’s a cast member with the name of Ernie Likens. I’m sure you’ll agree. He looks awfully familiar. Click on the third box picture icon on the right, to enlarge.

I say that Ernie Likens and Duke Benson are the same man. What do you think? I mean, other than Jim Cassidy, what other blond porn star, wore his hair in a 50’s pompadour, during the 70’s? I’m surprised, Woody didn’t connect the dots. It’s definitely not the first time. He’s both rather dense, AND sharp.
As for you and I, I know we can now agree, that Duke Benson/Richards aka Shane McCoy aka Ernie Likens, made at least, THREE films. ; )

From the Target Studio Archives.” I can find that Honcho magazine Aug 1998 included “Honcho Flashback “Rawhide Tavern 1978″ (3 Target models)” Wish I knew more. Still trying to find out who the other two men are.
the link you posted says “Jack Dillon” from The Rivermen – I think he means Jake Dillon, and seems right (although I don’t think the pic is from that film – no bar scene from what I can remember). “Rawhide Tavern” may well have been right here in NYC – especially if it was a Target Studios photo session. Good work!
