Head Boss

We’ve seen him before, partnered with (AKA Vic Bruno) from the loop Head Boss found in the William Higgins film, The Boys of San Francisco. Top image is from my “why again did I scan this image?” miscellaneous folder; the rest (and likely it as well) from the magazine Head Boss. He’s occasionally mistaken (glasses off, etc I guess!) for Al Parker on line – but meanwhile we have 2 questions – 1) which of the cast – Doug Warren, Jamie La Coste, or Mark Jordan (of the non-Vic Bruno) men credited in the scene is he; and 2) is he in any other films or magazines? I particularly like the image on the cover, the last pic in this post. The placement of the calculator, I dunno, gives it the full early 80’s office feel.

Check out the Vince Bruno link to see his only known (to me anyway) film appearance – and his accent? New York?

For some reason when Josh Eliot remastered this film in the late 00s he rearranged and retitled all the scenes, which only adds to the confusion. A lot of times gevi will lump the remastered versions in with the originals but it has two listings for this film:

I helped Woody clean up some of the discrepancies between the two listings and connect the scene titles, when I reviewed this movie last year:

But I wasn’t able to identify which of the guys were in the different parts of this scene, retitled The Tenderloin in the remaster. Wouldn’t even hazard a guess though it looks like you’ve figured out which one Vic Bruno was.

There is somewhat of a resemblance to Al Parker with the manager, from the few times we ever saw Al with mustache and not the full beard. But only from certain angles, otherwise it’s clearly not him.

You can spot Jack Burke in the SF Pride parade footage at the beginning of the remaster pretty well, which was filmed in 1981. I think a lot of the clips circulating online now derive from the remaster since it looks better but there is a user on ‘gayforit’ who has all eight scenes as they appeared on the original videotapes, even if the picture and sound quality isn’t as good.

Woody at GEVI suggests that it’s Mark Jordan, but he doesn’t present any evidence for why.

I don’t even have folders set up for Doug Warren & Jaime La Coste (the other two guys who blow each other in the warehouse, assuming Woody is right about Mark Jordan). How could I when I have no idea which is which. And when I tried to research them, I got nothin’.

It’s too bad we can’t ID him, because I think this guy is really hot. Funny though, his passing resemblance to Al Parker is something I didn’t really see until it was pointed out. I’d love to nail this down, but I can’t find any other mags which have photos of this scene. I assume the film credits don’t have an answer, because then we likely wouldn’t even be discussing this.

I guess this one remains a mystery for now. *sad face*
