AKA Giorgio Canali

Giorgio Canali supposedly debuted in These Bases Are Loaded, but sometimes, producers can be slippery & not be completely honest. Did he film with Laguna Pacific before Colt? He also has a different name with some companies so technically, These Bases Are Loaded, is Giorgio Canali’s debut.

I’m wondering if they didn’t necessarily always know what other work a model did – and date filmed, different than release date, etc seem to be hard to ascertain these many decades later, unless someone kept good notes; or perhaps looking at ads (but earliest date something is available doesn’t mean it wasn’t filmed some years earlier) – even COLT has some stuff that pops up years after it had to have been filmed. Did Canali/Rizzoli do any film/still work before 1981?

I absolutely agree. Especially in the case of C0lt. They seemed to have often done things a little differently.

I always think of most of the “Best of C0lt” films being made before their releases as a collection, but it’s incredibly difficult to confirm. Not unless you were actually there and remember. I didn’t “discover” C0lt myself until the 1990s so I don’t have a clue. But weren’t these films released individually on 8mm? Probably sometime in the late ’70s?

I’m not aware of any print work released before 1981. Colt Men #11 was published 1982.

It’s very frustrating. And the C0lt website is useless.

Yes, I have gone to the Colt website a few times since John Rutherford bought Colt from Rip Colt 20 years ago & it is useless. No models are named. You can’t find specific models even when you type in a Colt model name. It’s frustrating.

Rip Colt sued John Rutherford after Rutherford bought Colt, but I believe Colt died before court case was resolved. Colt was trying to get the Colt name back.

Good for him! Too bad he died.

When Rutherford took over, it seemed like he was trying to turn C0lt into Falcon Studies. All of a sudden there were these young blond guys – basically twinks. Nothing against twinks, I used to be one. But that wasn’t C0lt. I hated it. They also had hot men who did match the original C0lt vision, but you could still tell things had changed.

But you know Colt Studios always kind of made things a little tough for those of us that like to make notes and keep records. For instance: their insistence that all their models use different names when working with Colt. So confusing.

And even years ago, the website didn’t have a lot of helpful info about the mags or the films – no publication/release dates, etc. It was lacking for a long time.

Then not long ago, they suddenly put up model profiles for ALL their models, both new and old, something that most of the other big studios had at the time. Great! Except none of the stats seemed to be accurate. I swear to the porn gods- it’s like they just made it all up! And still, no release dates for the films and no publication dates for the mags. There’s really nothing at all on the old mags, except for new calendars and such which I think are still being sold.

I suppose we should feel lucky that there’s a website at all. I would love it if some of the old studios, like Target, still had even the smallest presence on the internet. I should shut up and just be grateful. But I do think that whoever is maintaining their website could do a way better job.

OK, rant finished.

I’m more concerned with what’s between his thighs! Ha ha.

He’s the certainly the “master” of European gay porn stars of the early 1980s. And possibly of all time.

Nino Bacci resembles Giorgio Canali given they have similar backgrounds, but they are very different models. Nino Bacci debuts in the late-1990’s. I believe Giorgio Canali died from AIDS. RIP Giorgio.

Giorgio Canali dropped off the face the Earth. That’s why I know he’s no longer with us.
