from the comment section, ZEPHYR points us to the Leather Archives & Museum page on VIMEO – and the above video with an Xmas theme. Thanks, buddy!
I’m super happy to see another resource, and love when folks use alternate spots (I LOATHE UTUBE) to do this – apparently, Leather Archives has been there for 11+ years! “As VHS video tapes reach the end of their life, we are working hard to digitize all 1,000 tapes in the collections of the Leather Archives & Museum. This clip is an example of the videos we have in our collection and a representation of what we are trying to save for future generations.”
I had this issue of Drummer, but like many periodicals, it got sold off in the great purge of 2017 – and I only saved 4 or 5 images from that issue, and now realize there were more pics of Charley (Charley goes leather !) – which I did not scan! Anyone got issue #89 in digital format?
Not to jinx them – but if you’ve every scrolled through my archives 10+ years back, more links tend to be broken the further back you go, so for videos especially, I prefer to host my own – but use the link above, bookmark, and make comments to encourage them to keep up the good work….. but… just in case…
One reply on “Charley, a living Christmas tree”
I checked Cowboy Frank’s website out of curiosity, to see if he had this issue of Drummer but the page with his scans now says ‘Sorry, this site is temporally down’. I know I’ve seen Drummer scans elsewhere, scribd has the first 20 issues for free and a few other random ones. I’m sure someone has it and will hopefully point you to it or send you the files.
Another channel on vimeo I just discovered is Bijou Video, they have 22 clips as of when I’m typing this and they are all remastered so great quality picture and audio. For some reason they made them all SFW so while there’s a bit of nudity here and there, none of the hardcore stuff. But some excellent clips nonetheless:

I share your dislike of youtube, it’s just so convenient for many things esp. music. But it’s become overrun with crappy spam and algorithms so I stay in my lane when I go there, and just seek out what I want to see and/or hear. Nice to know you can host vimeo clips in their own window but also nice that you saved this one and hosted it yourself in case it ever goes down.
Charlie was a stud, if you ever find the extra pics I hope you add them to this post or maybe save them for next Xmas. I even clicked through all your Xmas-themed posts with the tag, and saw at least one Drummer you’d posted before but not this one. Glad you found it worthy of a post here and I could point you to it. I have a limited reserve for holiday cheer, my inner Grinch/Scrooge usually wins out but hope yours are happy :)
