Gosh darn it! I thought I was working on a neglected drafts folder post – but apparently I posted back in 2021? – First I wanted to verify that my copy (actual copy pictured above) was the shorter version (digging thru boxes in basement, plugging into VCR, it is!) Then realizing the “clip” was over a gigabyte (it’s the whole film) I decided to make a more manageable filesize, and now while the version on my desktop plays fine – this version, below – only plays sound???
quick pause – this is a work in progress; been in drafts folder for years, and figured, flesh out what you can, add in the cover pics, and add stuff as you learn more (from you guys, if you have any of these issues) I think this is a great series, devoted almost entirely to photography, pulled from the pages of In Touch For Men, but also shots that didn’t make it into the monthly, and then some more from studios like COSCO (there’s a lot of COSCO – yippee!). 14 issues in total, through 1980. (and as soon as I hit “publish” I see a lot of cleanup/editing to do!)

I’ve always thought the date 1984 seemed late, given the look of the film; and my old cassette actually has 1985 as the date. But maybe it was produced only as early as 1982 or 1983… ’83 being the year Rick Donovan first came on the scene in Sailor in the Wild (in the scene where Leo Ford does all the work, and makes the scene work!). You’ll notice this promo says this is Rick’s first film – so something delayed the release. Anyway, while Donovan is the sergeant barking orders, and he’s in the orgy finale, he’s barely in the film, and scene 3 is arguably the best scene – with hottie Joe Reeves and Bob Carson, where Joe barters sex for a chopper part he desperately needs.
hmmmpf. Actually re-watching the scene, meh! I guess it was the setting / setup that seemed hot (army barracks, bare mattress, Joe Reeves look as his face is buried in the mattress), but I think our resident reddit reviewer is correct – “so rote” – the “top” was just so uninterested in what/who he was doing – and it’s Joe fuckin’ Reeves! Stills are much hotter. The promo, I still like the promo clip.

you know why this image is under “pet peeves” – too bad, it is an almost perfect image – but I was adding another publication to this gentlemen’s “pornstar – videography” and figured I’d scan the 8-page photospread (with cheesy 1984 title), add one more pic – heck – more of this guy elsewhere on BJland
