not him! check out the stills, watch the film – one of 10 found in the Vault Classics 1 2014 compilation – Definitely Dick Trask, but the other guy is just a bit too bulky, too smooth; is that a scar?, and of course the face! And don’t get me wrong, it’s a great film – a bit choppy, which is likely why it wasn’t released until decades later – but I like it!

Interestingly, they did appear “together” (not perform together) in a different COLT film – the somewhat confusing short found in the first Sex Rated Home Movies – Cooling It. I think it’s Bill and Brian Dexter having phone sex? and inter-spliced portions of Dick Trask’s solo film Waterways. As a pornologist (heehee! haven’t used that in decades!) I find these a fascinating look at the days of porno filming – imagine taking all this cool, (and HOT!) footage of these hot men, send the film off to get developed, and by the time you see the results, the models are long gone and you’re trying to put a rudimentary narrative together. Lucky for us, COLT seemed to have not thrown anything away, and kept firm control of his work, unlike most 70’s porn makers.

Maybe Colt did a new credits sequence when it was released in 2014 and they just got it wrong? The current Colt website is full of little mistakes and omissions. And I think the stats in their model profiles are just plain fiction. Particularly with the vintage models. I feel like I might know more about Colt Studio than whoever is running their website these days.

I went to the Gay Erotica Index & even they say it’s Stoner. They are wrong. I love using the Gay Erotica Index as a guide, but it’s not 100% accurate; they do make mistakes.

A little trivia on the real Bill Cable, if you didn’t already know it. He was Cassandra Peterson’s (aka Elvira Mistress of the Dark) boyfriend, as well as close friend with Christian Brando. In fact his wife had an affair with Brando before they divorced, but the 2 men remained friends.
Poor guy was in a terrible motorcycle accident in the mid 90s, in Laurel Canyon, and became a quadriplegic until his death less than 2 years later.

Ah, jeez! Why do I feel the need, to comment? I really don’t have the time. The schoolmarm in me; always feels the need to set the record straight, especially regarding Jim French, and Colt Studios.
It IS pretty deceptive, isn’t it? I noticed this when Colt Vault Classics, was released in 2014. It’s obviously not Stoner aka Bill Cable. The resemblance is pretty superficial. This guy is way too beefy and smooth. Plus, he has an appendectomy scar! Cable never had homo-sex, at least, not on screen!
Do you think he engaged in it, off-screen? I’ve always wondered, since he seemed to be so gay-friendly! Jim French said he liked his marijuana. Hence, his Colt name. It’s probably why he always seemed so relaxed! Maybe he received the occasional blow-job, when he was high. Who knows? ; )
Now in French’s defense, it could be that this wasn’t meant, for public viewing. By this time, Colt was already sold to John Rutherford. Was this, John’s desperate idea? Could they have used the name Stoner, at the last minute? Johnny-My Pet-Llama, makes some interesting hypotheses. Bill Cable died in 1998, so there probably wasn’t any fear of a lawsuit.

Bruno’s original Colt name; was either Herman or Hermes. Toby’s was Mark Griffin. French was pretty competitive, with his Colt names – territorial.
It seemed rather silly to call J.W. King: “Todd Avery”, Nick Rodger: “Terry”, and Blue Blake: “Glen Garrity”; when their porn names were already established!
French would also make up ancestry backgrounds, for some of his models.
Ledermeister aka Paul Gerrior, was obviously French, not German. Bruno was Cuban, not Italian. Ed Dinakos wasn’t Greek. He was a hot looking Jew – real name, Mike Glassman. Corbin Fisher makes up alternate names & fake backgrounds for their established models as well. Fisher usually snaps up models from Sean Cody. Grayson Cole has several scenes from Sean Cody, but he’s now done multiple scenes for Corbin Fisher. He’s simply Grayson at Corbin Fisher.
Corbin Fisher does not officially have exclusives, but they keep models for long periods of 5-7 years.
Corbin Fisher’s marketing is college age men so once they are age out, Corbin Fisher stops using them.

Well, mistakes and all, I am glad they have released a lot of these old clips that weren’t quite up to the COLT standard way back – he saved them! And most if not all other pornmakers of the 70’s / 80’s did not save anything – god only knows what happened when Al Parker sold off all his stuff to Le Salon, Hand In Hand to Bijou, etc….. but it would be cool to find out WHO this guy is, right? He has to have been in other COLT stuff, even if just in print.
