Many of you know I dig Joe Roberts – in fact you can see more Joe Roberts in BJLAND – but I didn’t realize I had one of his short films on a VHS tape I bought some years ago on the street, a West Village street fair, one of the few left that actually had folks clean out a basement and try to sell their stuff on the street (with minimal socks and sausage vendors, as well). At the time, I hesitated to make the purchase – not just becasue of the inconvenience of carrying around 2 tapes (what was the other one?), but more so because I was dating someone who, as it turned out, was a bit too hung up on my interest in vintage porn and my blog discussing that (and other rambling things!) But I bought it them anyway, while he was looking through another merchants stuff…
So, I finally digitized the tape, and below you can view this particular short film starring Joe Tharp (AKA Joe Roberts) and Daryl Paige. Gosh, I’ve even posted about A Good Day’s Work previously, but without the video. Enjoy!

But even more bizarre: The Nutcracker Suite is the background music? And then the Renaissance Fair music starts. That’s when I had to turn it down. And the background of the title page is a Van Gogh painting? Interesting choices.
More importantly, Joe Roberts was so hot. And the better cock sucker!

hee hee! street fairs in NYC are usually vendors selling wares, and often not with any corresponding theme like GAY PRIDE or Film Fesitval – just random vendors with Italian Sausage stands, cheap sheets, socks for sale, “Hurricanes” – the New Orleans Mardi Gras toursity drink – in NYC in mid summer! but but but, occasionally you can find a vendor who was actually selling personal stuff, cleaninf out a basement, and that’s when it can get interesting, or in this case VERY interesting!
back to the music – certainly the 8MM’s had no sound, and someone added it once it was transferred and compiled for VHS, etc. but yeah, too often random, and worse ODD or bad choices.
background – this is where the pros come in, Colt, Steve Scott, Joe Gage, they see the entire FRAME – and its purposeful – NOVA, god love them, often just found an available living room, or WAREHOUSE (OK, those were hot!) and just let the camera roll! WHich can be fun years later – “what were they thinking?” – THEY WEREN’T!!
