“Karl Forest is the subject of this pseudo-documentary autobiography of a hustler-turned cabaret dancer — from tender love-making in a forest to playful quick-scene fun with a mobster, a cop, and a soldier. The voice-over, in both French and English, explains his thoughts on life as a gay man in Paris. If I had a nickel for every cigarette he smokes during the film….. Fave scene is him getting blown by an older man. Sitting in a chair, smoking and slightly bored, he gets more turned on when he spots money in his trick’s pocket. The trick is not handsome, but his mouth is more than adequate, and his pleasure in crotch-servicing is more than enough to get you excited. The realness when you notice his toupee is beginning to slip off because of his forceful plunges into Forest’s crotch makes it that much more exciting.”
Director: Wallace Potts – (1976) Starring Karl Forest and a bunch of French guys – Carmelo Petix, Cedric Dumont, Franc Chazal, Philippe Renaud, and Rene
not sure why this was in drafts folder – I posted the clip back in 2013 – and have yet to digitize my copy of Dude – maybe the new (to this blog) pic of Karl at the top? And the quoted text above – where is that from, I don’t remember! Not from the many previous times I’ve posted about Karl, but yes, I loved, LOVED the cig smoking scene – perhaps in 2022!

I watched the clip and saw it years ago when it came out. Do you know if it is actually autobiographical? Despite his handsomeness, I hadn’t remembered how thuggish and brutal he describes himself. He says “It’s always been this way”. I am just wondering if all this is true material from his real life. If so, it changes the way I see him, he sounds like a real bastard, a nasty shit. A top is a good thing, but his kind of violence is not anything to boast about, which he does. I can usually overlook personal kinks and various disorders in gorgeous people, but if it gets in to this kind of real beastliness, it has no appeal at all–although I guess extreme “M’s” love it.
Thanks for the clip! I’d never seen this. Bizarre and chaotic but tres brûlant.
I agree with Parisian, I don’t condone or enjoy violence. But I can easily keep this kind of thing in the realm of fantasy. Thug fantasy can be sexy, but only as fantasy. At least, for me. And I love uniforms! Cops, soldiers, etc.
I’ve heard about this film for years, but never knew anything about it. I love the title. Thanks for sharing!
Oh my. I hear this as “this is how I was as a youth” and the depiction is hilarious, so hard for me to take it serious, let alone problematic. Perhaps I need to rewatch the entire film, but for this clip, it’s a guy reflecting on his past. Oh, and he’s playing both parts! ( well, someone, uncredited is “him”)
