this has me intrigued….. it’s from a 1984 Numbers magazine, I only have a few pages lifted from an Ebay auction (hence the quality), but the photo credit, as I’ve seen on a few others for Steve Collins, is Surge Studios….. but, yet, no movie credits for Steve from Surge! and these blue bath tiles look very very familiar….

I’m not familiar with Steve Collins but I think I know where I’ve seen the tiles before, and if I had to guess I would say it was Al and Steve Taylor (yet another Steve)’s house where they were said to have filmed some of the Surge movies. I think I remember a pic of Al standing in front of them, likely from a magazine photo shoot, his hair was longer in the pic if I remember it right.
But I definitely remember that bathroom from One In A Billion, a Surge film that Al directed. Dave buys a morning newspaper and flips a coin into the cigar box (paper boy played by Al in a non-sex cameo, unfortunately) and it lands on its side, which the odds are apparently one in a billion, hence the title. Anyway Dave can read people’s thoughts all day so he gets dick after dick (the car wash scene with the van has Moments In Love by the Art Of Noise playing) and when he gets home the final scene is Dave and two TV repairmen in a bathroom with that exact dark blue tile on the walls, and the frosted looking window to the left. Likely other pics and scenes where it was featured as well but that’s the one that I know I’ve seen and was able to confirm.
Bing bing Bing!
Yeah. Was gonna say that it’s the bathroom from “… Billion”
Oh I didn’t realize this was a quiz, I thought you were trying to remember where you’d seen it. Do you think I’m right about it being Al & Steve’s bathroom? And do you know of any other photos or scenes that were filmed there? From the way it looked in One In A Billion it seemed like it was a pretty large room.
In Turbo Charge, Al and Justin Cade play in the blue-tiled shower. In One Night Alone with Al Parker, Al changes into a bathrobe in this room. There may be others.
Stuart, I haven’t seen either of those in a while, will have to check those out again but I believe you. I did find this pic of Al which would seem to have been from the same room:

WOW! Great scan.
The long hair is from the period when he made Turbo Charge.
For this photo shoot, it’s also interesting that he left on more chest hair than usual.
or this:
Holy shit is that from Mommie Dearest?? Who knew there was a Faye Dunaway connection to gay porn lol.
