Hal Rodman

Gosh I remember the video On the Beat so clearly – huge cock, slo-mo and HUGE cum shot! But having a hard time believing Hal Rodman is also known as (Kristen Bjorn’s) Enrique Rodriguez Javier Rivera; but this pic of Javier Rivera does look remarkably similar! I know, I know, 1988 is hardly “vintage”!

Defining what is old enough to be considered ‘vintage’ is a bit like beauty, it’s in the eye of the beholder. I mean, to some guys a scene that came out in 2006 might be seen as vintage, if they are either young men and/or just out of the closet, so maybe the best way to look at it is that it’s a sliding scale? 1988 was almost (shudder) 30 years ago now … it really puts things in perspective when you can say a sentence like that and have vivid memories of some of the guys you had sex with during that year.

30 years!!!???!!! ha! in all seriousness, my old cut off was film vs. video for porno movies. Some started using video in early 80’s; some waited til later in the decade. I THINK this was recorded on videotape, but not sure.

That’s a pretty good standard to use, especially for the purposes of your blog. You could almost make the argument that anything from the 20th century could be considered vintage, if not now then probably within a few years. Or at least the pre-viagra days of porn. I’ve discussed this topic a few other places online where I feel like the elder statesman, and I keep running into guys who describe a ‘vintage’ scene from 2002 or so, and it just makes me shake my damn head – like you’re probably doing reading what I wrote. That’s why the sliding scale makes sense to me.

Hey bj,
Do you have any other pics or vids about Hal Rodman, aka Paul Orlov, aka Xavier…active in the 80s and 90s..?

He also used to have a profile on BigMuscle.com, where he used the handle, “Champagne Stud”.

If you scroll all the way down on this page, you’ll find a picture of him, which pretty much unmasks his physical identity at Colt:

As far as what qualifies as “Vintage”? I tend to use the same parameter that many use for nostalgia. They say it takes at least 20 years, for anything to qualify as nostalgic.

Remember, in the 60’s, they described styles and themes from the 30’s and 40’s, as camp.

During the 70’s, audiences were celebrating the 50’s with T.V. shows like “Happy Days”, and musicals like “Grease”.

“American Graffiti” came out in 1973. Although it took place in the early 60’s (“Where were you in ’62?”), the soundtrack and styles, were still remnants of the 50’s.

In the 80’s, they kept on bringing up the 60’s. Even now, many won’t shut up about Woodstock.

“That ‘70s Show” premiered on television, August 23, 1998. Boy, do I feel old! : / ; )
