For some reason I always get Fred’s A Night at Halsted’s mixed up with Jack Deveau’s A Night at the Adonis, must be the “night at” part of the titles that confuses my brain. Can I ask you a question about Deveau’s Adonis film? I found two of your older pages from a few years back…
… where you mention Sylvester playing during the background of part of this film. Which scene, and which Sylvester song was it? I rewatched the copy I have and didn’t hear any Sylvester (probably would have been either You Make Me Feel Mighty Real or Dance / Disco Heat, I would imagine) but maybe the version I have is a video release where they removed the song from the soundtrack. I did hear a super long disco suite called Two Hot For Love by THP Orchestra towards the middle of the film, as well as Benny Goodman’s Sing Sing Sing near the end. You know how into the backing music I am :) Thanks man.
Also the guy named Malo was extremely sexy in this movie, I know he’s in the scene in the barber chair with Jayson McBride and then he sits around in his jock reading a book “this thick” before giving up and heading down to the Adonis. Any pics of Malo? He looks familiar to me, I know he was in Dune Buddies also but I can’t place where else I might have seen him. Maybe I just recognize him from my dreams.
Actually I think I found the Sylvester song, it’s Down Down Down and some of the instrumental (without vocals) plays towards the beginning of the movie, right? When the hustler guy is on the phone with his john and says he’s going to give away what he pays him so well for. OK, if I’m right that answers the first part of my question.
