These pictures looks like bubblegum cards. Damn! What fun I could have had collecting THESE back in the day! Almost puts my DARK SHADOWS card collection to shame.
it’s from a promotional poster COLT put out in 1980. I was amazed how many uni-named models they have! (Bruno, Toby, and others, as well, of course!)
I lament that today’s Colt Studio isn’t the same as when Jim French was the owner. All good things must come to an end. However, thanks to Tumblr and other sites, I’ve discovered a lot of models, which I never knew modeled for this once prestigious studio, in the early days. For example, Duke (Benson) did most of his work in print. You also had guys like Turk, Stash Pulaski (Butch McAlister), Jim Cassidy, Walt Ford, and others, who I never knew modeled for Colt, early on. None of them are on the current website.
I resigned myself that Colt Studio, isn’t the same as when Jim French was the owner. All good things must come to an end. But thanks to Tumblr and other websites, I’ve discovered quite a few models that I’ve never seen before, who posed for Colt, very early back in the day. Duke (Benson)for example, only did two films. Most of his work was in print. Guys like Jim Cassidy, Stash Pulaski (Butch McAlister), Turk, Walt Ford, Bill Ferguson, Pat (John) Helm, etc. are not on the current website.
