I was scrolling through a series of scans I found online, it had some of the pages from the January 1987 issue of Honcho. And the cover model and centerfold is someone who was photographed by a Devlin Long at Magnum Studio. Is this the same company as the Magnum Studios (plural) that merged with Griffin Int’l and became Magnum Girffin, do you know? Gevi page for Magnum Studios:
And a few links from the magazine of the model who for some obvious reasons, went by ‘Moby Dick’. I’d also like to know who this guy was and if he ever did any film work or just photo sets. Because I would enjoy seeing him in motion:
I checked the gevi for magazines, Gay Erotic Archives and they didn’t have a name for the guy listed on the Honcho 80s page, just a [?] instead. Thought you might know more about this than I do, thanks.
HA!
I would remember that guy if I saw him in a movie!! – in fact, I remember buying this issue, used, late at night after the bars closed on 2nd Avenue – loved getting my used porn magazines that way
Yep that’s him, and the exact pic I knew I had seen somewhere before when I landed on the other scans from that issue. Wish we knew who he was, and if he ever did other photo spreads or scenes even. Looks like he’d have been a fun time ;)
I’m inclined to think that the original Magnum Studios may have been a different entity than the company releasing these shots, but I just thought I’d search your blog and see what came up for the word Magnum, which led me here. Thanks for the reply.
